Today, on this Teacher Proud Tuesday, we are featuring the wranglers of First Grade! Giddy up and read more about their team below:

If your team’s collective teaching experience was added up into one big number, how many years has this posse been patrolling the educational frontier?

We have 12.5 Rootin' Tootin' years combined!

What is the signature trick up this team's sleeve that helps you successfully herd your students to success every single day?
We contribute to students' success by being consistent and having fun every day!

What is the most rewarding part of guiding your young pioneers through the year so far?
Seeing those “light bulb moments” when everything clicks for students in their learning!

If your team time traveled back to the times of the wild wild west, who would be…

The Town Sheriff (keeping the peace and making sure everyone plays fair at recess): Mrs. Huffman
The Campfire Cook (always fueling the team with snacks and making sure the coffee pot is never empty): Everyone!
The Lucky Prospector (always discovering new resources and ideas for the team): Mrs. Ozee
The Tall-Tale Storyteller (captivating the room with stories and keeping the team laughing): Ms. Fenton

We are so grateful for the hard work of our first grade team!

For the last four weeks, our students have been focusing on the Portrait of a Learner competency of respect. They have talked about what this means in morning meetings and in their special classes. Each day during specials, classes had an opportunity to earn a point for their class if they were demonstrating the competency.

Today at Morning Community Time, our Special Teachers awarded the winning classes of each grade level with the POL flag. The winning classes were Mrs. Barnes, Ms. Fenton, Mrs. Stoecklein, Mrs. Furgerson, and Mrs. McCutcheon. We are so # of them!

This month, our students are working on the POL competency of communication. Which classes will win the flags next?!

Join us TONIGHT as we Salute Our Military at Republic High School's home football game against Webb City! 🇺🇸

Wear your red, white and blue and get to your seat EARLY to see a flyover during the National Anthem! This will take place at approximately 6:45 p.m. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.

Air Force pilots from the 71st Flying Training Wing with Oklahoma’s Vance Air Force Base will fly T-6 Texan II planes over the stadium. Among them will be Captain Noah Johnson, a proud RepMO graduate and former RHS Air Force JROTC member. We are excited to welcome him home! 🧡

Many student groups participate in Friday night football games, and we look forward to sharing their talents with our community while we celebrate our armed forces.

You can purchase digital tickets in advance at republicschools.org/footballticketinfo. Cash ticket sales will also be available at the stadium. There will be free admission for all veterans and active duty military members.
