Kindergarten parents, this one’s for you. 🧡

Your students are happy. They are playing. They are learning. They are making new friends. They are having fun.

They are loving their first day of school, and we thought you might like to hear from a few of them.

🐅

Wake up, Tigers! It's the first day of school!🧡 We hope you have a great day! 🐅

The first day of school is TOMORROW! As we welcome students back, here are a few reminders to help everyone start the 2026-2027 school year safely and smoothly.

🚌 BUS ROUTES: Double-check your student’s bus stop time and location in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal tonight. Routes may take a little longer than usual during the first few days. If a bus is running more than 15 minutes behind, we’ll communicate with families who are affected.

🚗 CAR LINES: Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before dismissal for afternoon car lines. The first few days may take a little longer as everyone gets back into the routine, so we appreciate your patience!

🏫 KINDERGARTEN & EC: Parents and guardians may walk Kindergarten and Early Childhood students to their classrooms on the first day of school. Beginning Wednesday, all students should follow regular drop-off procedures. Please see communication from your student's school for details.

📸 FIRST DAY PHOTOS: While we won’t be collecting family-submitted first day photos for a district album this year, we hope you’ll still capture the tradition at home! If sharing online, protect your student’s information by leaving out identifying details like their full name, school, grade, teacher, bus number or address.

⚠️ DRIVE WITH CARE: Please use extra caution as students return to school. Watch for students walking and biking, students waiting for and getting on or off buses and our student drivers.

We can’t wait to see you! 🐅

Learning and growth continued all summer long in RepMO! ☀️🐅 At the August Board of Education meeting, students and staff shared some of their celebrations.

The Republic High School Agriculture Department highlighted student successes through Republic FFA. Students shared their experiences caring for and showing animals across Southwest Missouri this summer, along with the skills they strengthened along the way — including perseverance, collaboration, adaptability and respect.

The Elementary Summer School Administrative Team also celebrated a summer of learning at Price and Schofield Elementary Schools, from academic growth and engaging activities to memorable field trips.

One highlight brought the two programs together through AgEd on the Move! High school students visited 3rd and 4th grade classrooms to teach agriculture lessons and lead hands-on activities, while all elementary summer school students had the opportunity to visit the RHS farm on a field trip.

From our youngest Tigers to our high school students, summer provided plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and try something new. We are of all they accomplished! 🐅

We are excited to share one more construction update before we start the new school year! 🏗️

Last night, before its regularly scheduled meeting, the Board of Education toured the new Republic Activities Center at Republic High School. The learning spaces, weight room and indoor facility of this new building will be ready for the first day of school. Cleaning and final touches will take place in these areas over the weekend. A mural is also being painted on the brick outside. The second floor is expected to be completed in September. The district will host a community ribbon cutting when the entire building is complete.

At Republic Middle School, the first part of Phase 1 of the remodel project will be completed for the first day of school. This includes the front entrance to the building, the Health Services office and counseling area. The rest of Phase 1 is expected to wrap up in the spring.

We are looking forward to welcoming students into these new spaces next week!

Finally, dirt is moving at the Republic High School baseball field to prepare for renovations. Turf will be installed and should be done in the fall, around the time high school softball season ends. Construction will then continue on that field, with the entire project being completed in the spring.

Visit republicschools.org/constructionupdates for additional details and to learn more about these projects. 🐅

The Republic School District is committed to preparing each student for future excellence through a safe educational environment. 🧡

As we approach the 2026-2027 school year, we want to provide our school community with information about the people, practices and resources that help keep our schools secure so students and staff can focus on learning.

Families can find our Back-to-School Safety email in their inboxes. This message includes important safety procedures and reminders, updates from our School Police team and more. We encourage you to take a few minutes to review the information and talk with your students about the role we all play in creating safe learning spaces.
