Join us around the campfire for an evening of learning, laughter, and adventure! Families will enjoy fun literacy and math stations, camp-style snacks, and hands-on tips to support learning at home.

🩷 💕 What’s in Grandma’s Purse? 👛

Today, Mrs. White’s first graders explored numbers in a fun and creative way during our Counting Collections activity! Counting collections is a hands-on math routine where students build number sense by grouping and counting real objects using different strategies.

After reading the delightful story “Grandma’s Purse” by Vanessa Brantley-Newton, students had the chance to “dig in” Grandma’s purse and discover all kinds of treasures to count! (We all know Grandma always has everything we need tucked away in that bag!)

Students worked together to count their special collections and then recorded how they counted — showing their thinking, organization, and growing confidence with numbers.

It was a joyful day of storytelling, math, and imagination! ✨

🔹 Challenge #1: Are You iReady?!!
• 🎯 Goal: Every student must actively work and pass their iReady lessons.
• ✅ The class with a 90% pass rate or higher by the end of the month wins a prize!
• 💡 Work hard, stay focused, and let’s see which class will rise to the top!

🔹 Challenge #2: Esti-Mystery 🕵🏽‍♀️🍬
• 🔢 Can you crack the code?
• Each student casts their best estimate of how many candies are in the mystery jar.
• 🎁 The closest estimate wins a prize!
