We were so lucky to observe ladybug eggs and larvae right in our playground! 🐞✨

This exciting discovery became a wonderful opportunity to learn about the ladybug life cycle through firsthand observation.

There is something truly special about learning directly from nature—watching, wondering, and discovering in the real world. 🌿🔍

French language grows where curiosity lives - in play, in nature, in meaningful moments.

Today, we had the wonderful opportunity to welcome French author Sylvie Joseph-Julien, from , to our outdoor classroom this week!

Through her Bande Dessinée and her adorable little raccoon character, Bandite, children explored the important topic of climate change in an engaging and meaningful way.

With her, we:
☀️ Discussed climate change, including some of its causes and consequences
✏️ Drew our own Bandite characters
🎨 Searched for famous artworks hidden throughout the comic
🌊 Imagined and created our own ending to the story about ocean pollution.

It was a joyful blend of creativity, French language learning, and environmental awareness. Thank you, Sylvie, for inspiring our young learners to observe, wonder, and care for our world!

Discovering Tiny Creatures Together 🐞🐛

We feel so lucky to witness so many little creatures in our playground lately
Coccinelle
Coléoptères
Cloporte
Abeilles...

Through careful insect observation, children develop scientific curiosity. They learn to slow down, notice, wonder, compare, ask questions, and build a deeper connection with the living world around them.
We practice observing without touching, learning to respect and preserve these tiny living beings and their natural habitat 🌱

A special Mother’s Day craft made with little hands, nature treasures, and lots of love 💛

Using repurposed cardboard and nature objets, the children created beautiful insects flower pot decorations — each one unique, just like them 🦋🐝

Along the way, we explored French vocabulary connected to our insect study:
🐞 les ailes
🐞 les antennes
🐞 le corps
🐞 la tête

We also practiced graphismes: point, zigza, vague, ligne, spirale, ponts...
And through the creative process, the children naturally used simple French sentence structures:
✂️ je coupe
🖍️ je dessine
🔗 je colle
✍️ j’écris

A gentle moment of sharing, creativity, and gratitude…
Une pensée spéciale pour nos mamans 💐
