The project is original in several aspects.

In the summer of 2010, Seattle University’s Sustainable Urban Agricultural Project (SUSUAP) partnered with King County Renton Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) to provide a fieldwork station to complement the classroom section of the proposed Sustainable Agricultural Project in the Seattle University Environmental Studies Program. The long-term goals are to teach SU students the skills necessary

for developing a sustainable urban agricultural system; educate the Renton community about proper nutrition; and provide healthy food to members of our community. It will use public, non-tradition farming land to supply local food needs. It will be a pioneer as the first farm project on a wastewater treatment plant. It will also continue to expand research on the application of reclaimed water and Biosolids on agricultural production.
