Young women belong in STEM. Full stop.

But for many students, that sense of belonging starts with access: access to mentors, hands-on learning, real workplaces, and most importantly to people who help them see what's possible.

That is what Eden found so powerful about SPIN.

As an aerospace engineer at Blue Origin, Eden first connected with SPIN during a student field trip. She saw students asking questions, trying new things, and getting excited about space, engineering, and their own futures.

“What I loved right away was seeing young women so excited about space and getting that hands-on experience, because engineering is something you learn by doing.”

For Eden, mentorship is personal. Growing up, she knew she wanted to be an engineer, but she did not have many examples of women in STEM around her.
Now, she is helping change that for SPIN students.

“When students see people like them in these roles, it breaks stereotypes. They start to think, ‘Oh, I can do this job too.’”

That is why supporting SPIN matters.

Your support gives students the tools, confidence, and real-world exposure to see STEM as a path that includes them.

Happy Pride Month! 🌈

You belong here. The door is open.

Watch to learn about clownfish and the cool ways they transition from male to female, because science has always been bigger, queerer, and more interconnected than what we were taught in school.

A few weeks ago, our HEART Team hosted an amazing student and family community event: STEAM Night! Students and families participated in a variety of engaging STEAM activities and even received a goodie bag with a free book. 📚✨

The event broke the record for the most attended event at West Seattle Elementary, with over 400 people in attendance!
A huge thank you to our partners and and our volunteers for helping make this event such a success.

Last Thursday, a few members of the SPIN staff had the opportunity to attend the “Plant and Chat” event hosted by, at North SeaTac Park! We learned about different tree species and local restoration efforts, and even got to plant trees alongside other like-minded community organizations. It was a great opportunity to connect, share space, and have meaningful conversations about the important environmental work happening in our communities!
