As a Psychology and Human Development & Family Science major, she completed an honors contract in AM 145 by researching and presenting on American Sign Language, Deaf Gain, and the role of Deaf schools within the Deaf community.

Honors contracts allow students to expand on classroom learning through personalized projects that encourage deeper research, critical thinking, and engagement with important social and cultural topics. Through her work, Kailey helped foster greater understanding of Deaf culture and the value of inclusive communication.
