OIL PASTEL SMUDGE© - ART . MATH . HEALING
I asked AI how the Oil Pastel Smudge method is related to Math! Here is what it came up with.

Relating to the Healing of Creating Art...nothing can replace it, as in "AI" ...It is in the real thing of "Creating Art" on your own, and in the joy of taking a class with other individuals - IN PERSON. So there you go! Sign up for an "In-Person" Class today!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! This sweet little piece was submitted by one of my students who had thought she wasn't an Artist. She has found out otherwise. She has been making cards and sharing her works with family and friends. Thank you for sharing, Debbie

More to do with a Smudge: I took Debby’s work, photographed it, and put it in a word document. Then I added the words. Took a screenshot and there you have it! Your own personalized cards. That you can take to a copy shop or Walgreens where Debby actually works.

I just had to share this from my Oil Pastel Smudge FB site ...I am so proud of the work produced with the help of the Nevada Arts Council and several other valuable agencies that support the Arts. I have been applying for grant funding through them for years to do things I would never have been able to do otherwise, to meet important contacts that have stayed friends and business contacts.

No one has said it is easy to be an artist, with so many discouraging circumstances that face you as one. I have found if your heart is in it, and you are there for the long haul, if you can especially teach others your skills in creating the rewards are satisfaction in knowing you have changed peoples lives with something as simple as giving of yourself and the creative spirit that only multiplies when shared.

We are all busy making a life for ourselves but when you get down to the nitty gritty of life you realize the value of giving to others is most rewarding. Art Heals! And I am in LOVE with a SMUDGE!

Much gratitude goes to Lifetime Arts, Creative Aging, The Nevada Arts Council, The National Endowment for the Arts, The grant received was to share my time and expertise with individuals effected by Su***de working with the Su***de Prevention Network of Douglas County and the surrounding areas. The Douglas County Library offered Free space for classes and a Reception, Partnership Douglas County, and SAMHSA and/or the Substance Abuse Treatment Agency of Nevada (SAPTA) also contributed. There is much more to be said and done regarding Mental Health and Su***de.

For the LOVE of a SMUDGE!
This is only 1 of 3 panels of Mandalas and Artist Inspirational quotes shared during the collaborative efforts of the Su***de Prevention Network of Minden, NV.

Through generous grant funding I was able to share my talents of helping others design colorful Mandalas and healing myself though the process.

Working with math, utilizing, both positive and negative shapes, we were able to compare it to life, which in designing Mandalas helps one to find their center and ground us, all the while working with color and creating beautiful art. We also shared our daily Artist Inspirational messages that confirmed how art is able to heal.

Many thanks and gratitude go to the following agencies that helped to make this fabulous opportunity take place: Lifetime Arts, The Nevada Arts Council, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Su***de Prevention Network, Douglas County Public Library, Partnership Douglas County, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Agency (SAPTA) Sincerely, Carol Foldvary-Anderson

Just working with these 4 basic shapes these beautiful Mandala's were made by the participants of the Su***de Prevention Network in Douglas County, NV. I am so impressed by the work of my students. I LOVE the colors they chose, the designs they came up with, and the fun we had creating our Mandala's with just a few easy lessons. Great Job Everyone!

See many more colorful Mandalas changing lives at the Douglas County Public Library Minden, NV. Art is Healing!
