What an incredible victory! Congratulations to the Nevada State Education Association and to all of our amazing ESP's! 🥳🥳🥳

This morning, it was announced that Gov. Sisolak has signed an emergency regulation allowing Education Support Professionals to receive unemployment benefits during the summer months!

This is a huge win for ESP’s and will provide relief for those who make our schools run!

We would like to thank Governor Sisolak, DETR, and the Commerce and Labor Committee for working with NSEA, ESEA, and Teamsters14 to find a resolution to this important issue.

We would also like to thank our members and allies who sent hundreds of emails in support of this fix.

NSEA Seeks Amendment to Senate Bill 75: Send The Senate A Letter | Nevada State Education Association 02/10/2021

So much goes into educating students. Our Education Support Professionals are a huge part of that effort!

🚨Action Alert: Send the Senate Committee a Letter🚨

This Wednesday (February 10) at 8AM, the Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor will be hearing Senate Bill 75 on unemployment compensation.

The Nevada State Education Association is concerned about the impact of summer unemployment on 9-11 month education support professionals, so we are offering an amendment to the bill which would allow ESPs to receive unemployment benefits during the summer months.

Relief for those who make our schools run is needed. Senate Bill 75 could be that relief if amended.

Send a letter to Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor, and ask them to amend the unemployment insurance eligibility so that education support professionals can receive benefits in these summer months.
