A world premiere of a piece for harp-oboe-viola trio, composed by Alex Loosley, with guest artists Emily Montoya-Barnes, harp; Aaron Hill, oboe; Dustin Budish, viola.

A premiere of a solo harp piece by Wesley Pittman.

Vanessa Porter, violin; Alejandro Pinzon, bandoneon; Regan Dodge, harp; Brandon Dodge and the Tahoe Percussion Collective; Nataly Roznitovsky, piano; Northern Nevada Ballet Academy dancers, directed by Kris Swaczyna; Lisandro Acosta, cello; Yuxin Xiao, conductor, and the Reno Harp Ensemble with harp guests from the region.

On this spring break edition of Wolf Pack Friday, we're celebrating the one and only Tristan McMichael! 🎷

A master's student in the studio of Dr. Aaron Hill, Tristan has been on a hot streak of late. You may remember his performance of the Glazunov Saxophone Concerto with the University Symphony Orchestra. More recently, Tristan presented several original compositions, and performed in an electro-acoustic masterclass at the North American Saxophone Alliance 2026 Conference at THE Ohio State University. His performance proposal was selected from a pool of over 500 submissions, and featured his own work "Unveiling Duets for Saxophone and Bassoon."

This summer, Tristan has secured engagements as a fellow at the Newfound Chamber Winds festival, and as a staff counselor at our very own Lake Tahoe Music Camp. All while he continues serving as the Governing Board President of the non-profit Plumas Performing Arts organization.

📅 Mark your calendars for Tristan's first Master's recital, Kaleidoscope 💮 on Friday, April 17th at 5pm in Hall Recital Hall.

TONIGHT, the University of Nevada, Reno Symphony Orchestra takes the stage with winners from the 2025-2026 Concerto Competition!🎻

🎻 Our very own Nightingale String Quartet announces two fully funded openings for the '26-'27 school year (violin, viola).

💵 Successful applicants will be supported at the graduate level with full funding (full tuition waiver and $18k/year MM for 2 years and $21k/year DMA for 3 years). Quartet members will work closely with Dr. Maureen Yuen, violin / viola professor, and Dr. Dmitri Atapine, cello professor, to elevate their performance proficiency.
