Kiddin' Around

Kiddin' Around Kiddin' Around is a 30 minute fitness program designed for children ages 2-6. In addition each week I highlight a different fabulicious fruit or veggie.

The structured yet fun lessons includes a sign language word, a "fabulicious" food of the week and three different games or activities using music and equipment. Kiddin' Around is a 30 minute once a week fitness program designed especially for children ages 2-6. My two goals for each class are to keep the children moving as much as possible and have a blast doing it. The structured yet fun lessons

are always started with a sign language word that goes along with our theme for the month. Then we do at least three different activities using my equipment to explore cooperative games, creative movement, and different sports. Encouraging healthy little eaters.

We started our things that fly lessons this week, namely airplanes and helicopters. See if your child can say helicopter in sign language. It’s a fun one. And our fab food was PEACH. Very popular food not surprisingly.

We had a quick warm up using our bean bags with a tail. The planes had to fly to the airport each time the music stopped. Then we played with the helicopter propelllers ( hula hoops) and last up a parachute game, running around in a circle like a helicopter of course.

I was very amazed by Reagan this week. She guessed what our fab food was before I even pulled it out of the bag! What in the world???🤣 Don’t know how she knew! And the best statement t-shirt of the week goes to CeCe with her “my love language is snacks” shirt. Me too!!!🤣 Speaking of snacks, the peach cobbler is almost out of the oven.

Our theme for the week was GOOD FRIENDS (and the sign words matched the theme naturally). Fab food was TOMATO!🍅 I briefly pointed out all the yummy things made with tomatoes just in case my kiddos didn’t think they liked them.

Our first activity was jogging to Miss Julie’s favorite song, Raise a Ruckus.🙌Then we tossed our good friend teddy bears and followed the directions of the song. Last up? The parachute of course. We rolled on the rainbow colors and took turns with our good friends.☺️

It’s been great so far this year to welcome so many new students! 🩵

Good times this week in Kiddin’Around. 🙌 Chip and Ruby introduced themselves to my new littles, and brought smiles to my returning students because C/R take the summer off. They missed them! AVOCADO was their choice this week and by a show of my students hands they are a popular food. Sign words were HELLO FRIENDS!

Our ribbons were first up, then tunnels followed by a parachute game. We had lots of fun moving, grooving with our friends.🩵

Welp. Our trip around the globe is complete! This weeks continent was Australia and globe beach balls were delivered to clips or family files so be looking for those. They’re very inexpensively made so if there are any issues please let me know. I have extras! 🙌

Off to Asia this week! Started off with some secret ninja moves (Tai Chi) then explored our belly dancing talents with hula hoops and finished up with some dancing dragons (streamers). 💃

Off to Europe this week in Kiddin’ Around. I’m not sure who is having more fun, me or the kiddos!

2.”Hoop” from Greece (my favorite)

We’re back in the swing of things with a few summer classes. (6) It’s all about traveling the world and playing their games and music this summer!

We were off to North America this past week. Played some Native American games like Stop the Dancer and blanket toss (with the parachute and a teddy bear). Next up was a version of the Mexican hat dance, also with the parachute. Lastly, we played with a lil Frisbee throwing cause you know, we had to represent.

Next week I’ll be out of town but classes will still take place. Miss Bre is very excited to take your kiddos to our next continent, South America! 🙌 Woo hoo! 🙌

We blew through another spring lesson this week. Sign word was SPRING and fab food was JICAMA. Not one kiddo was familiar with jicama but they at least know what it looks like now.🙌

Our quick warm up was a stop and go game that included jogging, hopping, push ups (well sort of, depending on the kiddo 😅) and jumping jacks. After this first game Milo said “whew, that was a workout!”🩵🤣

Second game was jumpin in the mud puddles, along with picking them up and playing with them. (hula hoops)

Last up we put two bags full of fake flowers on the parachute and shook them off. Super fun and very colorful game.🌈🌷
