Hello families!
We will be sending out some information regarding staff appreciation week both in fliers and through your Dojo messages, so keep your eye out! In the meantime, we are looking for some donations that will help keep us stocked for our staff. We are trying to take care of all 75 of our staff members! If you are able to think of us while you are out shopping in the next week or two, we would really appreciate it!

LVES Shopping List:
*A variety of 2-Liter sodas, juices, and iced coffees (Any and all flavors!)
*Coffee creamers (vanilla, sweet cream, caramel, etc.)
*Canned drinks (sodas, bubbly waters, iced coffees, teas, etc.)
*Individually wrapped snacks (granola bars, chips, crackers, trail mix, etc.)
*"Grab and Go" desserts (cookies, brownies, etc.)
*BBQ Sides and Condiments (homemade, pasta salads, potato salads, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, onions, sauces, etc.)
*Desserts (homemade, cakes, ice cream bars, pies, etc.)

We are also trying to cater a lunch for our staff as well. We are on a tight budget with many staff. If anyone has connections or would like to help with this, please reach out to Mrs. Walker here on Dojo.

Lemmon Valley Elementary School Presents... Jogathon for P.E.!

WE NEED YOUR HELP! This is a school-wide fundraiser where students will have 20 minutes to run, jog, or walk as many laps as possible around a 1/4-mile track on Wednesday, May 6th.

Why Students Run: Students are running to raise money to help fund a Physical Education (P.E.) teacher for the next year (2026-2027).

Our P.E. Teacher works hard each day to help students learn team-building skills, good sportsmanship, physical activities they can play during recess time, and a lot more! We will not be able to fund this program without your help!

100% of the funds collected will go to our P.E. Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Fact: If every student brings in at least $50 in donations, we will hit our goal of $14,000 this year! Can you help us accomplish this goal?!

How to Participate
• All students will participate in the Jogathon, regardless if they raise money or not.
• Collect donations from now-May 13th. Sponsors may choose to pledge per lap or donate a flat amount. Money (cash or checks) for donations per lap should be collected after the Jogathon.
• Money and donation forms are due to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, May 13th.

Dine to Donate Opportunity!

Texas Roadhouse has offered to do a Dine to Donate night for us on November 18th. Typically, 10% of the proceeds from this event would come back to us, but they have added an additional 5% for us, so we would get 15%! The fliers say 10%, but we get to promote it as a bonus! Please post this everywhere you can and give fliers to your friends and family. The only catch is that anyone who attends must show the flier either in person or digitally, so please let everyone know! You can eat there or take your dinner to go. Let's fill Texas Roadhouse next week!

All proceeds will go towards our PE program. We still need about $6,000 to fully fund our program for this school year.

Lemmon Valley Elementary School: Inspiring Gains in Student Achievement

Lemmon Valley Elementary School is being recognized for inspiring gains in student achievement, with the school’s performance increasing by more than 20 Index points over the past two school years on the Nevada School Performance Framework.

This accomplishment reflects the dedication of Lemmon Valley’s teachers, staff, and leadership in helping students grow academically and personally. Their focused work in literacy and math, along with a commitment to strong student relationships and consistent attendance, continues to drive improvement and success.

Chief Academic Officer for Elementary Education, Don Angotti, visited the school to personally congratulate staff and celebrate this milestone achievement.

These results demonstrate the power of teamwork, intentional instruction, and a belief in every student’s potential. Lemmon Valley Elementary truly exemplifies the Washoe County School District’s commitment to inspiring achievement in every classroom, every day.

Mumkins are almost sold out!! Please head down to your local Moana Nursery to pick up your Mumkins and gift others as well! We are currently getting $1,910 back through donations and we want to see if we can make it up to $2,000 before Sunday! Below is the message from Moana Nursery:

Mumkins will be available through October 12, 2025, so be sure to stop by soon to pick yours up. Our team can’t wait to see you and help you take home your beautiful Mumkin to enjoy this fall season. Please note that any Mumkins not picked up by Sunday, October 12 may no longer be available.

We love connecting with our families! It's been a wonderful week!

Congratulations Lemmon Valley! We more than doubled our points on the Nevada School Performance Framework and have moved from a low 1-Star school to almost a 3-Star school in just one year! We gained points for bringing down our chronic absenteeism percentage (we are down to 13%!), showing exceptional growth in both ELA and Math scores, and helping our students to catch up towards proficiency in both ELA and Math!

We want to thank you all so much for making the extra effort to bring your children to school, connecting with us on Home Visits, and supporting academics at home. Staff and students are working hard here, and we are not done yet! Our goal is to get up to those 3 Stars and beyond this school year! We need your help! Please continue to bring your children to school, connect with teachers and staff, and practice learning at home! We are seeing the growth, so let's continue to work towards proficiency to gain even more points this school year! Together, we can continue to help Lemmon Valley shine even brighter.
