New as of Fall 2026, the UWSC Drop-in Studio helps students who cannot stop in during our usual appointment times! 

The studio is available for everyone, for any reason. Don’t want to have a long appointment? Have an assignment, but don’t know what you need to focus on? Want a flexible session? The Drop-in Studio accounts for all of these reasons, and more! 

Make sure to come in during the hours our studio is open, as seen in the post. When you arrive, make sure to let the front desk know you are interested in a Drop-in session. From there, we will get you set up! These sessions are available even if all online appointments are booked.

You don’t have to fill out any prior information, or go through any tedious tasks to drop-in. Just bring yourself and whatever you need some advice on!

The Nevada Career Studio is an amazing resource, helping with both on-campus and off-campus employment! They have some big events coming up of which we encourage you to attend.

If you're looking for something more one-on-one, they also offer appointment/drop-in hours available for all students and alumni. They can help with your working goals, resume/cv creation, mock interviews, and much more.

Our Conversation Partners Program is a great way to meet new friends with a diverse language background! You can apply to be a partner for a variety of reasons: language hobbyist, academic need, supporting others learning, and much more! Our application is real simple; we ask about your goals and interests, in order to paid you with a similar student!

You can choose to meet with your partner either in-person or virtually. We take into account your schedule and any time constraints, to meet sure you and your partner can have consistent meetings! Outside of these scheduled times, we also host multiple events throughout the semester, of which are completely free to attend.

We take students of all skill levels, and welcome first time learners!

The National Science Foundation has reopened fellowship applications! Their Graduate Research Fellowship Program helps recognize and support students pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees.

The UWSC are helping out any students interested in applying through our four-week workshop. You don't have to have anything ready to submit (bring ideas), and we will provide snacks throughout each three hour session. Students who are interested must be available for all four sessions.

If all sessions are attended and a GRFP application has been submitted, the student will receive a $250 pavement for participating! The fellowship will then supply a three years worth of financial support for eligible students, including an annual stipend $37,000 and a cost of education allowance of $16,000 to the institution. The fellowship lasts for a total of five years.

We love the Nevada Career Studio, and all of the support they give the community!

On the second slide you can find a list of events that they will be hosting throughout the semester. They help with both off-campus and on-campus applications, and are a completely free service. If you just want to check them out, they offer walk-in hours for any questions, or short-form support!

We have updated our hours for Fall 2026, and are introducing a new form of support: The Drop-in Studio.

Our one-on-one appointments are available throughout the day, though our drop in hours are a bit more limited. The Drop-In Studio will always be available during its open times, even if all one-on-one appointments have been booked!

As always, we help with all things writing and speaking related. This includes some unexpected areas such as reviewing bulky readings, and foreign languages! We also do not require your project to be class related, and welcome personal works.
