Our first SkiDUCK - funded trip of the season kicked off with a full circle moment as the group met Brigham Cheshire, Class of 2018! Brigham, one of the first ATLAS students and who participated in all the outdoor ed field trips, is now a supervisor at Palisades! A huge shoutout to Mr. Nelson for organizing this incredible program and for the lasting impact it has had on so many students over the years!

While most people don’t think about skiing or snowboarding as life-changing activities, our programs are having a real impact in many kids’ lives. We received a note from a youth club director last year describing how their kids are now opening up, connecting with their mentors and developing a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem they had never seen before. It brought tears to my eyes, and reminded me once again that there’s magic in the mountains. Being able to share that magic with these amazing kids is a beautiful thing.

Man… today brought a tear to my eye. Blueprint day for everything I'd hoped for with my kids. Such a bond builder for school, a memory with their principal and a special day that opens doors to their hearts and my ability to impact their future. Thanks so much! The value of this experience is beyond words. Helps my kids, helps my school, helps my ability to get to their wounded hearts. Today... A kid who has his headphones on every morning when I get to school, sitting on a bench by himself, had the day of his life. He rode shotgun with me on the way home and never stopped talking. He boarded so much he had to take the tram down, but was so proud of himself. This leads to hope....relationships, friendships, and opportunities for his future. My plate is set to help him with the bond we built today and the appreciation he has for someone he can trust. Thanks a ton.... Really. We're changing lives... I know it..
