How are our efforts carried into the world? These sunflowers are all volunteers from my place and face a grade school for crowds of kids to enjoy. It gives me hope that even when we can’t see the benefits of our work the good gets spread out in one way or another.

Onions are easy! These Vidalia transplanted nicely, the bugs left them alone and they look like funny hidden Easter eggs crowning out of the dirt.

The cardoons have started blooming! One of the prettiest thistles I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Unlike artichokes, cardoons are grown for their tender stalks, eaten in soup or fried.
