Hi Everyone! We are excited to see you at our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Open House tonight from 5:30-7:30. We can use the gym parking lot and entrance to help with the parking congestion out front. So feel free to park in the gym parking lot and use that entrance tonight. Once in the building by the gym, you will need to head toward the middle school office and pick up your student's packet at the designated grade-level table. See you soon!

🏃‍♀️🏃 Interested in Middle School Cross Country?

If your middle schooler is interested in running cross country this fall, stop by during the Middle School Open Houses this week! Team information and sign-ups will be available for interested students and families.

📅 First Practice: After school on the first day of school, Monday, August 24

⚠️ Sports Physical Reminder: All athletes must have a current sports physical on file before participating in the first practice.

🥪 Last SUN Meals To-Go Pickup of the Summer! ☀️

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, is our final SUN Meals To-Go pickup of the summer. Stop by and pick up a free week’s worth of meals for every child ages 18 and under!

🔹 Barryton, Mecosta & Weidman Elementary: 11 AM–1 PM
🔹 Chippewa Hills Middle School: 4–6 PM

No registration or ID required. Just stop by, sign in, and pick up your meals!

As we get ready to welcome students back to Chippewa Hills Middle School, it's time to start thinking about school supplies. Check out our 2026–2027 School Supply List to help your student be prepared for a successful start to the year.

Please remember that supplying these materials is optional. Any required items will be provided for students who are unable to bring their own.

Introducing Mr. Tucker Scoville! Welcome to the Team!

Hello, Chippewa Hills! My name is Tucker Scoville, and I’m very excited for the opportunity to be your Middle School STEM teacher.

This will be my 5th year teaching. I have my teaching degree from SVSU and a degree in Geological Engineering from Michigan Tech.

In my free time, I enjoy 3D printing, Disc Golfing, and spending time in the outdoors with my wife, Montana, and our dog.

Introducing Mrs. Cara Thousand! Welcome to the Team!

Hello! My name is Cara Thousand. I've been a teacher at Chippewa Hills for 12 years. I have taught preschool, title, elementary special education, and I have taught in an elementary cognitively impaired classroom. This will be my first year teaching middle school special education. I'm very excited for this opportunity. I am a 1998 Chippewa Hills graduate, and I've had the pleasure of raising my own 2 boys, Jeffrey and Matthew, in the area. They are also Chippewa Hills graduates! My husband, Alan, and I enjoy spending time with our family and friends. I love crafts, music, and spending time outside. I'm looking forward to meeting new students, staff, and families this year. I know it will be a great year!!

Introducing Mr. Patrick Burtis! Welcome to the Team!

Hello, Chippewa Hills! My name is Patrick Burtis, and I am excited to join Chippewa Hills Middle School as your new Assistant Principal!

I have spent the past seven years working in education, and I am passionate about building positive relationships, supporting teachers, and helping every student succeed. My wife, our son, and I are excited to become part of the Chippewa Hills community as we begin this new chapter together.

I look forward to meeting our students, families, and staff and to a fantastic school year. Go Warriors!
