Community Members — We’d Love to Hear From You!
The Northland School Board will hold a work session Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the upcoming operating referendum.

The public is encouraged to attend. We would love to have community members join us, learn more about the referendum and how it could increase revenue for our school district by approximately $309,000 per year without raising local school property tax rates, and be part of the conversation as we discuss this important opportunity for our school district.

📣 Families—Don’t Forget Your Application for Educational Benefits!

School meals are free for all Minnesota students, but families are still encouraged to complete an Application for Educational Benefits.

✅ Helps Northland receive important state and federal funding
✅ Helps determine eligibility for additional benefits and programs
✅ Applications are confidential and can be completed even though meals are free

📅 Need help completing your application? Stop by the Northland Open House on August 26 from 4–6 PM and we’ll be happy to assist!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture updated its income guidelines for free and reduced-price eligibility for Child Nutrition Programs.

Though Minnesota provides free meals for students who attend schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program, schools must still collect Applications for Educational Benefits to determine eligibility categories and receive the correct federal and state reimbursements.
