I am now offering Spanish lessons & tutoring / ESOL effective immediately. Instruction can be provided remotely. However, I am willing and able to conduct in-home visits as an option as well with proper health & safety precautions in the Reisterstown, Owings Mills, Pikesville & Randallstown areas...
I have over 30 years of teaching experience and am excited to share my knowledge and love of language with new students. I have provided Spanish lessons and tutoring both individually and in groups in more recent years and look forward to doing so again...
My 4 years of coursework in Spanish through high school and college consistently earned me an A each quarter / semester.
Apart from my formal coursework in Spanish, I have always taken advantage of opportunities to converse with native speakers ever since I started my first Spanish class in high school and fully immersed myself in this beautiful language on 5 different vacations in the Yucatan peninsula over the years.
For those who are interested in ESOL, my command of English has allowed me to write press releases that resulted in publicity for my music instruction business on numerous occasions. I have also written & self-published 4 books that are on Amazon and all of the reviews to date rated them with 5 stars. I have also had my own autobiographical business article published in an elite local Baltimore magazine in December of 2019. (Greenspring Valley Neighbors).
I have experience working with special needs students and have been a free-lance piano instructor since 1993 and have employed a staff of instructors since 1997 although I have been gradually phasing that out over the last year or so in favor of maximizing my own teaching schedule.
I currently have 30 piano / keyboard students, the vast majority of whom are being taught remotely.
I can accommodate up to 8-10 more students in the after school hours or on Saturday mornings and can't wait for my future language students to become part of the mix!
For adults or children who have a more flexible schedule - such as working an evening shift or a specific regular consistent half school day I have scheduling options for lessons / tutoring sessions earlier in the day during the week as I do not work outside of my own businesses.
With the growing number of Spanish speaking populations in the U.S. learning Spanish can be of practical use both personally and professionally for adults who currently speak only English...and for Hispanic adults living in the U.S. learning to improve your command of English can have similar benefits.
For young elementary school aged children, learning Spanish in advance of it being an academic requirement will give them an obvious advantage once they are in high school...and for those who are currently taking Spanish in high school or college...the extra tutoring I can provide will help boost your academic performance in your courses and help you earn higher grades.
