📣ANNOUNCEMENT📣

We have some big, and very bittersweet, news to share. 🥹

The bitter: Our PTA President had to step down this week. Hale has been with the PTA for the last two years as Secretary and we were so excited to see how she would fill the role as President. Her energy and excitement to be part of the PTA is something we loved about her.

The sweet: Hale stepped down as PTA President because she’s decided to return to teaching! You can now find her in our 4th grade classroom as Mrs. Herrine! You read that right… she’s teaching at Chatsworth!!! She will join Ms. Lee as our second 4th grade teacher and we are SO excited for her!!

So what does that mean for the PTA?
- According to our governing entity, FreeState, teachers and staff can be on the PTA and part of committees but cannot be part of the leadership board.
- Our bylaws state that the Vice President moves to the President role and the board decides who fills any other remaining spots (Screenshot of our bylaws attached)

Here’s where it gets a little confusing.. but stay with us.
As a board we thought it was only fair to choose from those that had nominated themselves in the Spring, seeing as they had already shown interest in the position and responsibilities for each position.

This means that:
Chrystie moves from VP to President.
Lyndsay has moved from Secretary to VP.
Emily has moved from Fundraising Chair to Secretary.

Because we enjoy having a dedicated Fundraising Chair we reached out to the other two candidates we had during last year’s election.. and to our surprise the BOTH agreed to head the committee! We are so excited to welcome Erin and Amy as our new Fundraising Chairs!! They will be helping us plan new and existing fundraising efforts.

These changes may seem sudden.. and trust me they felt sudden for us, too! But we are all here to better our school and support our students, families, and staff. We’re so happy you’re here and can’t wait to “meet” you tomorrow night at Back to School Night!!

Everyone please 🎉CONGRATULATE MRS. HERRINE and 🤗 WELCOME ERIN & AMY!!

Thank you joining our fb page.. won’t you consider becoming a member too?

This year we’re trying something new. We still have our “regular” memberships for families and staff, but we’ve added levels in order to raise more money and gain business sponsorships! Each level holds special benefits, and some come with spirit wear included.

Remember, we always accept and love help and support. And being a member is not required to support the PTA, but it does give you options to be an officer, on committees, and voting privileges.

📣 all that renew/join by October 1st will be entered into a raffle- one for families and one for staff!!
