G-R 4th Grade

Did you know that being a 4th grader comes with a pretty awesome perk? FREE admission to national parks!

Our students have been learning about national parks, and several have been asking how they can show their families this website!

Through the Every Kid Outdoors program, all 4th graders can get a FREE pass that gives them and their families access to hundreds of national parks, monuments, forests, and other federal recreation sites for an entire year!
Every Kid Outdoors

Whether you're planning a family vacation or looking for a weekend adventure, this is a wonderful opportunity to get outside and explore together!

🌿 Visit the website below with your 4th grader to get your FREE pass and start planning your next adventure!

Happy exploring, 4th grade families! 🌎💚

It will list lots of places to visit! But not all will accept your paper pass. If you aren't sure whether your paper pass will work, have an adult call before you go.

Our 4th graders kicked off our National Park of the Month adventure with Yellowstone National Park! We had the amazing opportunity to meet virtually with a park ranger, ask questions, and learn about the incredible wildlife, geothermal features, and natural wonders that make Yellowstone so special!

What a fun way to bring our learning to life without ever leaving our classroom! We can't wait to continue exploring a new national park each month! 🌲🦬🏔️

Our fourth graders had a SWEET time learning about the rock cycle! Using Airheads, students modeled how weathering, erosion, deposition, heat, and pressure can transform rocks. We even melted our candy “rocks” to create magma! Who knew geology could be so delicious? 🍬🌋

The Trailside Book 📕 Cafe last week was a success!

There were 23 different books for the kids to switch between and get a “taste” of. Then, they had a chance to leave a review of what they thought! ✍️

They also got to have snacks 🥨 and lemonades 🥤to enjoy while they read!
