Today we’re taking a moment to recognize and celebrate someone who means so much to our school—Mr. Paschal—in honor of National Principals Day!
His dedication, leadership, and heart for the students, staff, and families of Wentworth Elementary make a difference every single day. From early mornings to late evenings, he’s always putting in the work to make our school a safe, supportive, and thriving place to learn and grow.

We are so blessed to have a principal who leads with compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to our community. Thank you, Mr. Paschal, for all that you do! 🦅

We are incredibly grateful and truly blessed to have two outstanding women—Ms. McCollum and Ms. Allen—as part of the Wentworth team. Their dedication, hard work, and unwavering support keep our school running smoothly every single day. From managing endless tasks behind the scenes to providing a warm and welcoming presence for staff, students, and families alike, their impact is immeasurable. There simply aren’t enough words to capture everything they do, but we know without a doubt that Wentworth wouldn’t be the same without them. Happy National Administrative Professionals Day to these two remarkable individuals—we appreciate you more than words can say!

Rockingham County Schools ​w​ill operate on a 2-hour delay for students tomorrow, ​Wednesday, January 1​5th. Staff will report ​at their normal time.
RCS Childcare will operate on its normal schedule.

Due to school closings & remote learning days, here are changes to the RCS school calendar for January 2025:
End of Semester moved from 1-17 to 1-22
MLK day, 1/20 Holiday for all students & staff
School days 1/21 & 1/22
Required teacher work days 1/23 & 1/24
Report Cards 1/30

🚨 Weather Update 🚨
After reassessing road conditions, RCS has decided that tomorrow, January 14th, will be a remote learning day for students.
🕘 Staff will report on a 2-hour delay.
👶 RCS Childcare will operate on its normal schedule and families must provide snacks and lunch

Due to lingering snow and ice on roads and neighborhoods, RCS will have a remote learning day for students tomorrow, January 13th. All RCS buildings will open at 10:00 am. Updates to the school calendar for the remainder of January will be shared soon.
