Rockingham County Head Start

Rockingham County Head Start Rockingham County Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive child development program. We serve all children, including children with special needs.

Each child is given the opportunity to participate in a variety of education activities. We also provide mental health, medical and dental care, nutritious meals and snacks as well as a learning environment that is safe. We work with parents too! We recognize that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children's lives and we need to partner with them to meet their needs and th

e needs of their children. The entire Head Start staff welcomes involvement in Head Start activities. We offer our hand to partner with you and your child. Please note below a few areas in which we need your involvement:

Volunteering in the classroom

Serving on the Policy Council and participating in your Parent Center Committee meetings

Attending trainings and workshops

Assisting on classroom field trips

Assistance in the preparation of nutritious snacks

Planning parent/child activities

Serving as bus monitors

Establishing family partnership agreements
