Tattnall County High School Technology Student Association (TSA) officers attended the Georgia CTSO Legislative Expo at the State Capitol on February 4, 2026. Students representing multiple Career and Technical Student Organizations—including HOSA, FCCLA, FBLA, and SkillsUSA—who also serve as class officers were in attendance, highlighting the strong leadership presence of Tattnall County students.
During the event, students had the opportunity to meet with state legislators Billy Hickman, Leesa Hagan, and Bill Werkheiser. Representative Werkheiser welcomed students into his office, where he spent time speaking with them and answering questions about state government and public service.
Tattnall TSA officers proudly represented their chapter in official TSA attire and received several compliments for their professionalism. Students confidently advocated for TSA, explaining that the Technology Student Association empowers students through innovation, leadership development, and its motto, “Learning to Lead in a Technical World.” All participating students did an outstanding job articulating the value of CTSOs and the impact these organizations have on student growth and career readiness.
Students also participated in a guided tour of the State Capitol led by Tattnall County Schools Superintendent Dr. Waters, further enriching the experience by connecting civic learning with real-world leadership.
Tattnall TSA advisors Philisia Spearmon and Katherine Swain, along with Senior Class Advisor Brianna Hill, were also in attendance and expressed pride in the students’ professionalism, advocacy skills, and leadership throughout the day.
