Our 2/3 classroom has been working hard to fill their class marble jar! 🫙⭐

The marble jar is a fun way to encourage teamwork and positive choices. As a class, students earn marbles for things like getting a great report from a specialist, everyone is focusing during a lesson or when everyone works together to clean up the classroom at the end of the day. Once the jar is full, the whole class gets to choose a special reward together!

Last week, they filled their jar for the very first time and chose a PJ & Fort Day to celebrate! Way to go, 2nd & 3rd grade! Time to start filling that jar again! 👏

Our 4th & 5th graders have been learning all about exoskeletons and endoskeletons and putting their creativity to work along the way! Students became scientific illustrators and created the bone formation of an animal of their choice. 🐢🐸🐦 They had to think about what’s underneath the fur, feathers, or scales and how each animal’s skeleton is put together.

Science + art + a whole lot of bones = so much fun! 🦴🎨 We love seeing learning come to life in the classroom!

Today, we’re celebrating the amazing teachers who make Pinecroft feel like more than just a school. Every day, our teachers show up ready to encourage, challenge, support, and cheer on our students. They celebrate the little victories, help students through the tough moments, share plenty of laughs, and make each child feel known and valued.

As we wrap up our first month of school, we’d like to share the wonderful success of our School Store! 🏫

Our 4th/5th grade classroom runs the school store each week, giving students a hands-on opportunity to learn about money, practice responsibility, and build valuable real-world skills. It’s a fan favorite of most of our students, and all of the profits go back towards the school! ✨

Today, our students enjoyed a delicious Spanish inspired lunch! 💃 Ms. Gaby, our wonderful Spanish teacher, arranged a special Spanish Heritage Month feast for all of our students to enjoy. This special month gives us an opportunity to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, history, and contributions of Spanish-speaking communities.

The menu includes traditional favorites such as white rice 🍚, beef or chicken tacos 🌮, pastelitos 🥟, and everyone’s favorite… Tres Leches Cake! 🍰

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture, tradition, and community, all while enjoying some delicious food together!

Happy First Day of Fall from The Pinecroft School! 🍁

Today we kicked off our first STEAM class of the year with a fun engineering challenge! 🤩

Working together in teams, students put their creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test as they designed and built structures strong enough to hold the weight of one or two apples! 🍎🍎

Our K/1 engineers had a special challenge: build a table to hold an apple using only limited materials! They planned, built, tested, and made adjustments along the way. 🧠🔧

It was amazing to see students collaborate, share ideas, persevere through challenges, and learn from their mistakes. Lots of teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and, of course… apples on top! 🍎✨

Our first graders took their very first spelling test this morning and did a fantastic job! 🌟 We are so proud of their hard work and confidence as they kicked off this new milestone.

Meanwhile, our kindergarten students were busy building their letter skills with Wikki Stix! 🔤 Using hands-on learning, they practiced forming letters while strengthening those important early literacy and fine motor skills.

What a great morning of learning, growing, and trying new things! 💚📖✨
