Blanding Public Library
Is the Blanding Public Library on the Chopping Block?
Is the Blanding Public Library on the Chopping Block? That is the big question for the Blanding Public Library at the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7 PM at the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School.
Please attend and voice your support to preserve our town library and its contribution to the quality of life we expect.
As you may know, the Town has a $1.75 million shortfall in its FY2015 budget. Where will this money be found? One option under discussion is to cut all town services, other than the school department. Another option is to find additional funding. The decision as to which option the town pursues will be determined by you and the other voters who care enough to attend town meeting on Monday.
If the Blanding Library closes or loses its state certification, all Rehoboth residents immediately lose borrowing privileges from other certified libraries. State funding is also forfeited.
Please attend and vote to retain the Library’s budget. Thank you for your support. PS. Please pass on this urgent request to all those you know who also support quality services in our community
