The DanceSource was a well-known, professional Ballet and dance school in Rego Park, Queens, New York, and has been in the Forest Hills community since 1994.
Different styles of Classic and Contemporary dance, including Indian, Georgian, and Ballroom. The DanceSource is currently offering classes over ZOOm. It was a reknown dance school in Rego Park since 1975 - 2021. We offered different styles of dance, including Ballet, Tap, Gymnastics, Modern, Hip Hop, Barata Nathyam, Bollywood, Kathak, Georgian, and more. Private lessons available by appointment. Gene Kelly coaching Barbra Streisand. "Hello Dolly"
I’ve always liked this photo of Gene and Barbra. Michael Kidd, as many of you know, was the named choreographer of Hello, Dolly! And Gene was the named director. But Barbra often turned to Gene for guidance. “She would come over on Sundays with her little boy,” said Gene, “and we’d walk through the stuff. She wasn’t playing star at all.” Gene did stage three numbers in the picture: “Ribbons Down My Back,” “It Only Takes a Moment” and “The Parade Passes By” with the huge parade scene. To me, Gene’s choreography is easy to spot, as it looks and feels quite different from Kidd’s. But that may just be me.
