I learned at conferences that one of my third grade girls is keeping a log of great ideas to use in her own classroom someday. One of my favorite lines: Make everything funโ€ฆ even math.

Our last Reedsville Road Trip of the year took us to Hilltop Road - where we enjoyed an amazing afternoon at Floppy Ear Farm. The farm is owned by Chris Kocourek and Keith Schroeder and has been in business for 12 years. The children played with the goats and had the chance to also pet a yak, a donkey, a mule, a couple of dogs and the cats. We explored in the orchard, saw the bee hive, and ate berries from the tree. Visitors can find a wide variety of goat milk care products in the store that is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week. What an amazing adventure for our lucky Reedsville kids! Thank you, Chris and Keith, for your time and kindness today! To learn more, please visit their page at Floppy Ear Farm, LLC.

A bus full of students traveled west of Reedsville today to visit Rollin Ridge Disc Golf Course. This championship course has been owned and operated by Kat and Steve Pisaro since 2011. This sport is played like golf but you use discs instead. The course is open daily from 6 a.m. till midnight. We checked out the Pro Shop where people can buy snacks, drinks, and equipment. Then it was all action as the students hit the course with guidance and advice from Kat. The day wrapped up with a quick game of kickball and ice pop treats at the nearby Spatchek farm. Thank you, Kat, for hosting us today as this was a new sport for 25 of our students! Take your families and spend a day at Rollin Ridge Disc Golf Course!
