🌟 Internship Spotlight: Addison 🐾

This spring semester, Addison completed her Veterinary Technician internship at Riverside Animal Clinic, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience and grew tremendously in both her skills and confidence.

Throughout her internship, Addison explored many aspects of veterinary care, including patient office visits, animal restraint techniques, surgical preparation, post-operative care, laboratory procedures, and the essential daily responsibilities that keep a clinic running smoothly. Every experience helped strengthen her knowledge and passion for the field.

One of the most exciting outcomes of Addison’s internship journey is that it helped confirm her future career path. She has decided to pursue a career as a Veterinary Technician and will be attending Ridgewater College next fall to study Veterinary Technology. πŸŽ“πŸΆπŸ±

Congratulations, Addison! We are excited to see where this journey takes you and wish you the very best as you take the next step toward your career goals.

A special thank you to Riverside Animal Clinic for your partnership, mentorship, and commitment to student learning. These authentic, real-world experiences are only possible because of community partners who invest in the next generation of professionals. We are grateful for your support! ❀️

From lesson planning to leading activities in the classroom, this internship experience gave Piper Rigge the opportunity to make a real impact at the RCW Ag Department and St. John's Lutheran School as a teacher assistant! Throughout her placement, she created and delivered agriculture-based lessons for students ranging from Preschool through 12th grade, helping all students explore the importance of agriculture in fun and engaging ways. πŸŒ±πŸ“šπŸ„

This fall, she will continue pursuing her passion for education and agriculture at Southwest Minnesota State University School of Agriculture as she works toward a career as an Agricultural Educator. We are excited to see all the ways she will continue inspiring future generations through agricultural education.

We are so proud of the hard work, creativity, and leadership she demonstrated during her internship and wish her the very best as she begins this next chapter!

Thank you to RCW Ag Ed Department (Meghan Beckendorf & Jason Stewig) and St. John's Lutheran School for hosting Piper as a teacher assistant and allowing her to get this incredible hands on experience!

Weekend annual officer retreat!

This weekend, our 2026-27 officer team had their annual officer retreat! We spent weekend playing games, getting to know each other and discussing the future of our chapter.

We spoke about our chapters weaknesses and strengths, and what we each wanted to contribute to the chapter and its members. Each officer was put into a group of three and chose a meal to make for the entire team!

Getting to know each other isn’t only fun, but is the gateway to a successful chapter. Getting to know each other leads to understanding each other and making the best decisions we could as officer team.

As we celebrate the end of another school year, we want to take a moment to highlight four of our seniors who completed an internship this semester.

🌟 Internship Spotlight: Jackson Nichols πŸ”§πŸ

This semester, Jackson completed his internship with MJ Mechanical as a Plumbing and Heating Apprentice, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the skilled trades and developing practical skills that will serve him well in any career path.

During his internship, Jackson worked on a variety of projects, including residential plumbing repairs, sewer line replacements, and new construction installations. He also learned the importance of organization and customer service by tracking parts, assisting with job logistics, and interacting with customers on-site. These experiences provided him with a well-rounded understanding of the industry and the professionalism required in the workplace.

While Jackson plans to pursue a career in law enforcement after graduation, the skills he developed through this internship; problem solving, communication, responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail, will continue to benefit him throughout his future career.

Congratulations, Jackson, on a successful internship experience! We wish you the very best as you pursue your goals and begin your journey in law enforcement. πŸ‘

A sincere thank you to MJ Mechanical for investing in our students through mentorship and hands-on learning opportunities. Partnerships like yours help provide authentic experiences that prepare students for success beyond the classroom. We truly appreciate your support!

What a great day of hands-on learning at the Orren Farm! πŸπŸ–πŸ“

Animal Science students had the opportunity to step outside the classroom and gain real-world agricultural experience while working with goats, pigs, and chickens. From learning about proper animal nutrition and safe animal handling techniques to getting their hands dirty helping trim goat hooves, the students jumped right in and were eager to learn!

Experiences like these help students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deeper appreciation for the care and responsibility that comes with raising livestock.

We also want to thank Weltsch Equipment, Inc. for providing our Baby Animal Day event with a utility tractor. With it, we were able to better educate PreK-4th grade students about the importance of tractor and equipment safety.
