📚 PS @ OLMC | First Day of School Excitement for OLMC Preschoolers

Our youngest Padres had an exciting first day of school! From taking those first steps into the classroom to learning new routines and navigating lots of little transitions, it was a day full of new experiences.

With our caring and experienced Preschool staff there to guide, comfort, and encourage them along the way, our littlest learners are already settling into their new home at OLMC.

Here’s to a year of learning, growing, playing, and making new friends!

📚 OLMC Back to School Night

It was wonderful to welcome our families back to campus for Back to School Night! Families were warmly greeted by our new principal, Megan Armando, who shared her vision for the year ahead and introduced this year’s school theme:

✨ KNOWN. LOVED. SENT. ✨

• Known — Every child is seen, valued, and supported.• Loved — Every student experiences the love of Christ through the relationships and community that surround them.• Sent — Our students are encouraged to share their gifts, serve others, and make a positive difference in the world.

Parents also spent time with their children’s teachers in the classrooms, learning more about the curriculum, classroom expectations, goals for the year, and all that our students can look forward to in the months ahead.

It was a wonderful evening to reconnect, meet our teachers, and come together as a community as we kick off another great year at OLMC.
We are so grateful to begin this school year together — grounded in faith, rich in tradition, and strengthened by the incredible community that makes OLMC so special.

🎉 Weekly Padre Pride Winners! 💙💛

Congratulations to our Padre Pride winners! At Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we celebrate students who go above and beyond in showing our school values through the Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs). Teachers and staff love to “catch a child doing something great” — whether it’s showing kindness, helping a friend, or being a responsible learner. 💫

CONGRATULATIONS TO:
• Giuseppe - 1st: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus by giving up his front row seat to his cousin Gabri, so she could see.”
• Louis - 2nd: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus by saying “Hi” to a teacher and asking her to take good care of his little brother.”
• Joey - 2nd: “Demonstrated living with integrity by making excellent choices at play time. He was frustrated with his peers and knew to walk away and take a break.”
• Joseph - 2nd: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus by spending much of his morning recess showing kindergarteners at P.E. where the bathroom is.”
• Myles - 5th: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus by being an amazing leader for a student shadow to “shadow” all day.
• Valeria - 6th: “Demonstrated living with integrity by trying to make a difference when things seemed unfair.”
• Amelia - 7th: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus and learning with purpose by being proactive by asking for support on a task.”
• Egan - 7th: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus and living with integrity by helping a second grader with equipment.”
• Maxwell - 7th: “Demonstrated living with integrity and learning with purpose by knowing the recess routine without being reminded.”
• Iyla - 8th: “Demonstrated loving like Jesus and living with integrity by sprinting to action when Ms. Johnson needed help with the flag.”

We’re so proud of our Padres who make OLMC shine every day. Keep up the great work! 💙💛

📣 Welcoming Our New Principal to OLMC | Megan Armando

It is with great joy and excitement that we announce the appointment of our new Principal, Megan Armando!

After an extensive search process, we are thrilled to welcome a faith-filled and experienced leader to guide Our Lady of Mount Carmel School into its next chapter.

Mrs. Armando brings deep roots in Catholic education. A proud alumna of St. Pius School, Notre Dame High School Belmont, St. Mary’s College, NDNU, and USF, she earned degrees in History and Religious Studies, holds a single-subject credential in History, and completed a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.

For more than 20 years, Mrs. Armando has served the Archdiocese of San Francisco with dedication and heart. Her journey began at her alma mater, St. Pius School, followed by 12 years in administration at St. Charles School and two years at St. Matthew School. We are now blessed to welcome her to the OLMC family.

Her commitment to Catholic education, passion for student growth, and gift for building strong school communities make her an incredible addition to OLMC. We are excited for our students, families, and staff to get to know her in the months ahead.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Mrs. Armando to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School!

🎓 Kinder @ OLMC | Offering Advice to Class of 2022

As the OLMC Class of 2022 prepares for their high school graduation and their next journey to college, our kindergarteners had a few sweet words of advice to share for the road ahead. 💙💛

From little voices with big hearts:
✨ “Don’t forget to brush your teeth.”
✨ “Don’t forget to say your prayers.”
✨ “Eat your vegetables everyday.”
✨ “Don’t wear your jammies to class.”

We are so proud to welcome back the Class of 2022 on May 17 for a special reunion as they celebrate this incredible milestone.
