At Redwood Shores Elementary School, we are a cohesive learning community where all students grow socially, emotionally and academically. Faculty, staff, and families work in close partnership to educate and nurture every child. Together we foster students who create, collaborate, think critically and work hard to become positive contributors to our community and the world.

Yesterday marked Day 1 of our Education Commitment Campaign. Your donation to our PTA-SchoolForce Partnership will make a huge impact on our students' education and experiences at our schools. Consider donating today!

Today is the first day of the 2022 Education Commitment Campaign!

What is the Education Commitment Campaign (ECC)?
All the Belmont-Redwood Shores Public Schools Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and the Belmont-Redwood Shores Public Schools Education Foundation (SchoolForce) partner to make it easier for parents to support our schools. When you donate during the Education Commitment Campaign (ECC) from August 1 to October 31, your donation will cover virtually all of your child’s educational needs. The suggested ECC donation is $1,800 per student – the first $250 goes to your child’s school PTA(s) and the remainder ($1,550) to the SchoolForce, the district-wide education foundation.

The end of the school year is coming, and so is the deadline to contribute to SchoolForce, and support programs and positions for the 2021-2022 school year. Our reading specialists, librarians, science teachers, counselors, music and art programs all depend on community support.

Please consider making a donation now to help reach the overall goal of $2.5M to support all students in our district. Don’t forget to ask your company if they provide matching funds!

We have 3 weeks and $540,000 left to reach our goal! Why $2.5M?

This goal is not an arbitrary number - it is the amount that we need to raise to pay for all the programs and positions planned for the 2021-2022 school year!

If you have not yet made your annual contribution to SchoolForce, please don’t delay . The ask is $1,550 per child. If this amount is too significant for your family, please contribute at a level that works for you. Our students rely on everyone pitching in to the best of their ability. Donations can be made at https://schoolforce.org/donate/

Thank You!

Thanks for all you do Miss Veronica!! ❤️

“I can see who I am working for, their smiling faces, and how they benefit from my work at BRSSD.”

Meet Veronica Rodriguez-Nava, Student Services Secretary (“Triple S”) at Redwood Shores Elementary. Prior to working at BRSSD, Veronica worked in a variety of senior level corporate roles, including Training Liaison for Latin America at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Veronica has been a BRSSD Triple S since 2018 and loves it!

In her role, Veronica provides a variety of support services for students and families alike. Veronica helps families and students manage access to technology, from checking out Chromebooks to logging into Google Classroom and Seasaw. She is bilingual, which means she is particularly qualified to support a wide range of community students and families. Veronica's background and skill set also allow her to help students (when the school nurse is not on duty) who have sustained an injury; she assesses students for injuries from minor scratches to concussions. Veronica also helps track attendance and coordinates lunch pickup for students during COVID and beyond. Veronica possesses a wonderfully well-rounded skill set which greatly benefits the students and Redwood Shores Elementary community.

Veronica tells us that as she works in her Triple S capacity, she is consistently learning that what is true for one family or student is different for another. “Working here helps me to know that everyone is from a different background and have different experiences and understandings of what education means for their families...It’s gorgeous to be in such a diverse community because every day I am learning something new; to be flexible, or learning what is true for me is not true for everyone else.”

Ms. Rodriguez-Nava earned her degree in Marketing from Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

Thank you Ms. Rodriguez-Nava for bringing your inspirational energy, skills and compassion to your role at BRSSD.
