3 Package Entries Vie for BOS in Mobius Awards

Three Packaging entrants are nominees for Best of Show in the 2020 Mobius Awards. They are Pearlfisher and PepsiCo Design and Innovation, both of New York City, and Shenzhen Baixinglong Creative Packaging Co. Ltd., Shenzhen, China. The winner will be announced Dec. 14.
The BOS nominees are:
• "Bowl & Basket": A ShopRite Brand: Pearlfisher set out to emphasize that ShopRite is one of America’s well-established cooperative retailers and will be even more competitive with the introduction of its new private label food and beverage brand, Bowl & Basket, premium products at budget-friendly prices. Advertiser was Wakefern, Keasbey, N.J. Special Credits on the project go to VP Executive Creative Director Hamish Campbell; Head of Realization, Brandi Parker; Design Director, Tiffany Bacani; Client Director, Elizabeth Obee, and Senior Client Manager, Allison Diaz
• "A Can Has No Name": This product was created by PepsiCo Design & Innovation, New York, specifically for the Mtn Dew and Game of Thrones superfans. It provides a way for fans to learn the “Throne” Kill list by purchasing a can and doing a promotional post on the question “What Would You Do for the Throne?” The project drew inspiration from key elements of the show and turned them into a tangible keepsake, using iconic fonts and temperature-sensitive thermochromatic inks. The advertiser was PepsiCo, Inc., New York.
• "Year of the Ox Commemorative Wine": This 2021 commemorative packaging by Shenzen Baixinglong Creative Packaging Co. Ltd, China, conveys the concept of spirituality through the use of the zodiac "Ox". The entry addresses the theme that zodiac animals bear the people’s hope for an auspicious and wonderful life. Advertiser was Niu Lan Shan, Beijing.
The competition, which began in 1971, also announced nine First Place Mobius Awards, 11 Certificates for Outstanding Creativity and two Student Certificates. For more information on all winners, visit https://www.mobiusawards.com.
