EXPLORE ANTIGUA, LAKE ATTITLAN, AND TIKAL, Guatemala’s three premier tourist destinations. Our home base will be Antigua, a World Heritage site and Guatemala’s oldest city. For three weeks we’ll explore its cobblestone streets, its ancient churches, and its neighboring volcanoes. One weekend we’ll take a bus to Lake Attitlan, a picturesque lake ringed by volcanoes, and tour the small pueblos along its shores. Another weekend we will fly to Tikal and explore the largest Mayan archeological site, learn about these ancient, mystical people, and see exotic wildlife like howler monkeys.

VOLUNTEER PROJECT: TEACHING English to local children whose school cannot afford to hire English teachers. Participants will be given detailed curriculum to help them teach the local children to learn English. This skill will create opportunities for them.
