Jefferson Elementary recently hosted the Jefferson Environmental Defenders assembly! 🌎
On April 27 and 28, students took part in an interactive program presented by LA County Public Works. Through music, movement, and student participation, they learned about recycling, reducing waste, and simple ways they can help care for the environment every day. Way to go, Jefferson Defenders! ♻️

Post-secondary dreams don’t wait for high school! 🌟These Birney Elementary students are already thinking about their futures, researching real careers and what it takes to achieve them. From ballet dancer to chef, basketball player to neurosurgeon, the passion and drive were on full display. Big goals, bright futures, and it all starts now.

RUHS AP Environmental Science students are putting science into action across the community.
From beach cleanups and habitat restoration to wetland studies and ocean pollution education, students are working with partners including South Bay Parkland Conservancy, Surfrider Foundation and Madrona Marsh to protect local ecosystems.
They also helped teach younger students and community members, making environmental science hands-on and accessible for all ages!

From computer science coding and Good Eats cooking to College and Career Exploration Labs focused on cosmetology, painting, and building structures, students are getting hands-on opportunities to discover interests and connect learning to real-world pathways.
