Your brain doesn't process words in a straight line.

It thinks in pictures. In 3D. In patterns. That's not a bug, it's a feature.

The Davis Method was built on this understanding. Ron Davis discovered that dyslexic and other neurodivergent minds are primarily visual-spatial thinkers.

Traditional reading instruction forces linear, phonics-based processing, which fights the brain's natural strength.
Davis works the other way: with your brain's actual processing style.
The result isn't just reading. It's understanding. Find a Davis Facilitator — www.davismethod.com/facilitator

Many adults were never taught how to work with their brain.
They learned to compensate...T o mask... To push through...
To feel frustrated with themselves when things that seemed “easy for everyone else” felt exhausting.

Concepts for Life is designed to support adults in developing practical tools for:

* executive function
* organization
* emotional regulation
* self-awareness
* responsibility
* sustainable structure

The goal is not perfection.
The goal is understanding, clarity, and building systems that actually support daily life.
Different minds need different tools.

If your child is struggling with focus, learning, or constantly feeling overwhelmed… you’re not alone.

I work with children, teens, and adults with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning challenges who are often:
• Frustrated with school
• Avoiding reading or homework
• Melting down or shutting down
• Trying hard—but not getting results

What I see most often isn’t a lack of effort.
It’s confusion, overwhelm, or difficulty processing what they’re experiencing.

When that changes, everything else can start to change too—
Focus improves, anxiety decreases, and confidence builds.

I offer personalized sessions in-person (at your home or my office) or online, serving families in Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville, Duvall, and Bothell.

If this sounds like your child, feel free to reach out.
I’m happy to talk through what’s going on and see if it’s a good fit.

The classic signs of adult dyslexia aren't always obvious.

It's not just spelling. It's remembering faces but not names. Fatiguing quickly when reading. Relying on others for written communication. Gravitating toward roles that quietly hide your difficulties.

Sound familiar? You're not alone — and there's a reason your brain works this way.

I think this is one of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing people who were anxious and even depressed move to participating more fully in life feeling so much better!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

For neurodivergent families, that hits differently.

It's not just about anxiety or depression in the clinical sense. It's the parent who hasn't slept properly in years. The adult who's spent their whole life being told they're not trying hard enough. The child who dreads Monday mornings. Mental health and neurodivergence are deeply connected and this month we're going to talk about both honestly. Follow along.

Join us in 1 hour!

When an autistic person struggles with a meltdown, a refusal, repetitive behavior, the instinct is often to manage the behavior. But what if the behavior isn’t the problem? This free webinar looks at why a developmental approach to autism gets better long-term outcomes for autistic individuals, than a behavioral one.

Your brain doesn't need fixing. It just needs the right operating system.

New research proved what many of you have felt for years: dyslexia isn't a flaw. It's ancient hardware — hardware that has been part of humanity for 15,000 years.

Scientists found these traits haven't been selected against in all that time. Evolution didn't try to remove them. That means something about how dyslexic minds work actually matters.

Before reading and writing existed, survival came down to seeing patterns, solving problems, thinking visually. That's exactly what many dyslexic minds do best.

The problem isn't your brain. Schools were built for one narrow way of learning.

Facilitator Friday: Sophia's son's dyslexia diagnosis led her to The Gift of Dyslexia. His transformation inspired her to become a facilitator. Her own growth during training sealed the deal.
When Sophia's youngest struggled with reading and writing, she searched for real solutions. The Gift of Dyslexia changed everything. Her son attended a Davis program and the shift was profound—skills improved, but more importantly, his confidence soared.
During her own facilitator training, Sophia had a surprising discovery. She grew more confident, focused, and organized. She recognized ways she'd been unconsciously compensating for dyslexia her whole life. That personal journey fuels her work now.
She specializes in elementary students discovering that letters finally make sense and their confidence blossoms. And autistic young adults building executive functioning skills and taking on new responsibilities with pride. A 12-year-old's grades jumped to 80% and higher for the first time. A 5th-grader with severe migraines rejoined regular school at grade level. A 7-year-old now aces spelling tests and wins reading awards. An adult discovered at 46 that her learning style is a gift, not a flaw.
Sophia works in person in Washington and Alaska, and online. She offers a free 30-minute call to explore if Davis is right for you.
