🌟 New Year Brings Salmon & Science 🐟

Salmon are returning to Sunrise in January. Once the eggs are settled and the Salmon Cam is set up, everyone will be able to watch over Clever!

Thursday, February 26, is the date for Science on Wheels at the Pacific Science Center! The program will focus on physics and will include a school-wide assembly, classroom workshops, and self-guided exhibits. Look for more information in January about volunteer opportunities for this exciting event.

MLK Day of Service | 4th Annual PTA Hygiene Drive

In the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, Sunrise students are coming together to serve others through our annual hygiene drive benefiting Friends of Youth.

Students will help collect and pack essential hygiene items into backpacks for local youth experiencing homelessness—putting compassion into action and learning the importance of service.

🍎 SAVE THE DATE: 1/20 Levy Info Session & PTA member meeting
The Northshore School District is running three funding measures in the February 10, 2026 election. These measures work together to ensure all students and staff have access to updated learning supports, facilities, and technology.

These measures include:
🏫Capital projects bond to improve schools across Northshore and modernize schools most in need.
💻 The technology levy renewal continues to fund classroom technology and learning tools.
📚Educational Programs & Operations Levy Renewal continues funding to support day-to-day operations of the district that are not covered by the state.

District representatives are offering an info session where you can learn more and ask questions before the January 20 PTA membership meeting, on Tuesday Jan 20, 2026 ⋅ 6pm – 6:30pm in person at the Sunrise Library or via Teams: https://teams.live.com/meet/9318009759823?p=Qt70jafVM6CFEbj2dW.

This is a whole-school effort and a meaningful way for students to lead with compassion and service.

• K–1st: Toothbrush / Toothpaste
• 2nd–3rd: Soap or Hand Sanitizer / Snack Packs
• 4th–5th: Hand Warmers / Socks

Our 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders are invited to take part in this fun, creative production with Studio East and the Sunrise PTA. Whether your student is brand-new to the stage or already loves performing, this is a great chance to build confidence, learn new skills, and be part of something special. 💛
