We're here to cultivate the natural wonder & intellectual spark that every child carries with them. Social, emotional, physical, & intellectual education.

The foundation of our Montessori philosophy centers upon hands-on learning in a mixed-age classroom.

🦋 Butterflies are taking flight at RMS! A journey the kids began when they were just tiny little caterpillars 🐛
After weeks of observation from caterpillars to chrysalis to gaining their wings, the kids were so excited to see these beautiful creatures fly!

Independent play, limitless imagination 🚲

A child’s choice of toys, activities, and pace is a daily lesson in autonomy and independence. Social awareness comes naturally from self-directed play — anticipating others needs and having the opportunity to problem solve. With a teacher nearby, not directing their activity, curiosity turns into courage and imagination becomes planning, sequencing, freedom to explore, permission to make mistakes.

In Montessori, imagination and autonomy go hand in hand, shaping confident, capable learners 🧠

What comes after lower elementary? We’ve been thinking about that too ✏️ Introducing the next step: Elementary Co-Op for ages 9 and above! A hybrid co-op model designed to support families seeking a more flexible, home-centered approach while remaining connected to our school community.

As our Lower Elementary program grows — headlined by a dedicated Lower Elementary building opening in September 2026 — we’re thoughtfully exploring what comes after age 9 for students who wish to continue in a Montessori-aligned environment.

🏫 This Montessori-aligned hybrid learning model for ages 9-12+ is designed to blend independent work, group collaboration, and hands-on learning that keeps students connected to our school community.

It’s a seamless transition from Lower Elementary to a program that preserves Montessori principles and community connection. Students stay rooted in a familiar school culture while enjoying increased flexibility.

If you’re interested in learning more or seeing if this is a good fit for a student in your life, please reach out!
Message us to receive additional information, reserve a spot, or schedule a campus tour.

We’re excited to offer a path that honors Montessori principles while providing flexibility for today’s families. We can’t wait for our new Elementary Co-Op! 👏🏽

“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.”
— Maria Montessori

Today we celebrate the many people who nurture childhood with patience, tenderness, steadiness, and love.

To the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, teachers, and guides who help children grow into themselves — often in unseen moments day by day — thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Redmond Montessori. 🤍

Montessori school isn’t ‘Daycare’ 🧼📚🌎

Montessori education is built on the belief that children are CAPABLE 💪🏽 We provide a carefully designed educational approach that centers on the child’s developmental needs and intrinsic capabilities rather than on simply supervising or entertaining them.

In a Montessori classroom children choose purposeful, self-directed activities from a prepared environment that fosters concentration, independence, and hands-on learning 🖐🏽 Our teachers are there to observe and guide each child rather than direct the classroom as a whole. This provides support that matches where each child is at developmentally and allows for focus, problem-solving, and executive function.

Montessori education builds a solid foundation for abstract thinking and social development. It emphasizes collaboration, respect, and responsibility while prioritizing purposeful learning and growth for every child! We share a core belief that children aren’t meant to be managed — they’re individuals to be respected, challenged, and met where they’re at developmentally. 🌱
