Wonder of Learning – Week 4: What Do I Like?

A little look back at Week 4 of our Wonder of Learning!

From reading favorite stories and swinging into fun on the Tumblebus to playing with friends, exploring science, and dancing with colorful scarves, our classrooms were full of curiosity, discovery, and joy.

We explored new textures, painted alongside our teachers to create collaborative classroom art, and enjoyed sensory play (because who doesn’t LIKE the water sensory bin?!). We also discovered that some of our kiddos really LIKE (LOVE) their catered vegetarian lunches!

Through these experiences, our children explored their interests, discovered new favorites, and celebrated the many things that make them unique.

Wonder of Learning – Week 3: How Do I Feel?

A little look back at our Wonder of Learning from a few weeks ago! 💛

Smiles, silliness, and love were all around as our teachers explored the question, “How do I feel?” Yoga brought mindfulness and connection, colors became a way to express moods, and one class brought feelings to life by creating their very own feelings monsters! 🎨👹🧘

Through movement, creativity, and play, our children explored the many ways we experience and express our emotions. Every classroom found its own beautiful way to wonder, discover, and connect. 💕

Wonder of Learning – Unit 2, Week 1: What Is Family?

This week, we began Unit 2: Exploring Relationships with the question, “What is family?” ❤️

Our students shared family photos, talked about the people who make up their families, and explored images of families from different cultures around the world. One classroom even practiced setting the table family-style, bringing connection and togetherness into everyday learning!

Through these experiences, children discovered that families may look different, but each has its own special ways of sharing love, caring for one another, and building connections.

🌟 **All About Me: A Family Discovery Night!** 🌟

Who am I? How do I move? How do I feel? What do I like? How can I communicate?

Mr. Paul hosted a special **All About Me Discovery Night**, where our families explored these big questions through fun, hands-on stations! From discovering what makes each of us unique to exploring our feelings, favorite things, movement, and ways to communicate, there was so much to learn about ourselves and one another.

It was a wonderful way to bring our *Wonder of Learning* unit to life and celebrate all the things that make each child special.

🎶 ¡Hola, amigos! 🇪🇸

We’re kicking off something new this week with Ms. Abi and Spanish lessons. Our children are learning Spanish in the most preschool-friendly way—through music, movement, repetition, and lots of smiles. 💃🎵

Songs make it easy for little learners to hear new words, practice pronunciation, and build familiarity with another language while having fun. We’re excited to see where these musical Spanish adventures take us! ❤️

How Do I Communicate?

We’re only on Tuesday, and our Antelopes are already having so much fun exploring this week’s **Wonder of Learning** question: *How do I communicate?* 💭💬

✏️ **Write it!** Our little learners are using scribbles, letters, and words to share their ideas and stories.

🤟 **Sign it!** We’re learning that our hands can help us communicate, too!

📞 **Talk it!** String telephones brought lots of giggles as the children took turns talking, listening, and discovering how their voices travel through the string!

Through play and hands-on exploration, our Antelopes are building language, early literacy, listening, and social skills—all while discovering that there are so many ways to connect with one another! ❤️

And it’s just the beginning…we wonder what other ways we’ll discover to communicate this week!

🌕What happens when families, creativity, and the moon come together? A special Moon Festival project!

Last Friday, Mr. Paul, our Assistant Director of Education, invited our children and families to create their own family reunion. Together, they drew the people who make their family special and added their artwork to our community moon.

The Moon Festival, also called the Mid-Autumn Festival, is a traditional celebration of family togetherness. Families gather, enjoy the full moon, share mooncakes, and celebrate being together.

It was a fun way for our children and families to learn about this tradition while celebrating the families that make our community so special!

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
