We want to share this important update from JCSD 509j regarding summer school closure tomorrow due to the fire. Please refer to their official communication below for the latest information. We are thinking of their students, families, and staff during this challenging time.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to cancel our summer programming for Monday, July 27 at all sites. This means there will be no summer school at Madras Elementary, Bridges High School, and Madras High School.

We reached this decision due to the unpredictable behavior and rapid growth of the Bench & Beachcomb fires last night, and many families living within evacuation zones.

All of our summer meal sites will be closed on Monday, July 27 as well.

We know this can be difficult, and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we navigate these tough times. Our thoughts are with the families impacted by the fires in our region, and we are grateful for the firefighters currently working on containing these fires.

We will share an update tomorrow, on July 27, about the status of our summer programs for the rest of the week.
