The Hood River Valley High School agriculture department loved hosting 275 local 3rd graders for our annual “Touch and See” event! Students spent the day exploring agriculture through hands-on activities, learning about livestock, plants, food production, and the many ways agriculture impacts our daily lives. Every student left with a tree to plant at home, and teachers received Ag in the Classroom books and resources to continue the learning back in their classrooms.

Thank you to all the CTE and STEM partners who celebrated the end of the school year with us! Without your partnership, students and teachers wouldn't have the same opportunities that they have.

Recently, students in the Digital Arts program at The Dalles High School practiced their interviewing skills. The “speed interviews” activity from Empowered gave students the opportunity to learn about traits they want in a partner. Then they went through speed interviews to learn about their classmates in order to pick out appropriate partners for their next project. At the end, students commended about how it was easier to interview towards the end of the activity because they had more practice. North Wasco County School District 21
