Looks like winter wanted to make one final appearance! With the the ice and snow we will be canceling classes for today March 13
03/13/2026
Waking up to a snow-covered wonderland this morning was certainly surprising. We’re in mid-March, the winter season is ending and spring season is about to start, according to the calendar.
Days like today are a beautiful reminder that nature doesn’t always follow the calendar. Here in the Pacific Northwest, winter sometimes lingers just a little longer. ❄️
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Water element of winter is associated with rest, restoration, and conserving energy. The Wood element of spring represents growth, movement, and new beginnings. When we get a snowy day right at this seasonal edge, it’s like nature giving us a gentle pause—one more quiet moment before the energy of spring really starts to rise.
That’s how we want to approach yoga practice today:
✨ warm the low back and kidneys
✨ move slowly to keep the body comfortable in the cold
✨ add gentle side stretches and twists to start awakening some spring energy in the body
So, if you’re out enjoying the snow today:
• breathe in that crisp fresh air
• move gently and keep the body warm
• notice the quiet beauty of the moment
Spring is coming soon… but today we get to enjoy a little more winter magic. ❄️🌲::
Update: The power is back on & classes will happen.
Unfortunately, the windstorm knocked our power out last night and it is still not back so classes are canceled for today March 12

It’s a Beautiful Winter Morning – For Yoga
Good morning, Enso community 🌬️☀️
I was just outside on my deck for a few minutes of yoga, and I had to share—it’s really not too cold today, and it’s such a beautiful winter morning here in Seattle. Crisp air, clear light, and that quiet winter stillness.
A little reminder from our seasonal, elemental yoga program: winter is Water element time—perfect for slowing down, calming the nervous system, and staying grounded. If you can, step outside for 5–10 minutes of standing yoga. Mountain Pose, hands at the low belly or kidneys, slow breaths, maybe a gentle Warrior or side bend to warm up.
No pushing. Just presence. Think of it as standing meditation—rooted, steady, and calm.
If you needed a sign to get outside today, this is it. Bundle up and enjoy this beautiful winter day.
