Summer at Overlake Athletics goes beyond practices and games. Through strength and conditioning opportunities designed for both middle school and upper school students, athletes can continue building healthy movement habits, confidence, athletic performance, and overall wellness throughout the summer months.

Programs led by Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Joey include: team-based summer training, open lifting opportunities, and access to Tully, Overlake Athletics’ new training and tracking app. These experiences are designed to support students at every stage of athletic development while reinforcing safe, progressive training practices in a positive and encouraging environment.

Our eighth graders are living their best lives at Field Studies, where learning meets fun in the great outdoors. Forget the usual classroom—think paddle boarding, tackling ropes courses, and cozy campfires. 🚣‍♂️🔥

Who wouldn't want to swap desks for a paddle or a harness? These experiences are all about experiential learning, something that makes Overlake a unique and special place.

🏛️ It was a huge weekend for Overlake Latin at the Cascadia Junior Classical League Convention! Our students swept all three Certamen divisions, earned top honors across academic, athletic, and performance events, and represented Overlake with incredible energy, curiosity, and school spirit.

From Latin quiz bowl and mythology exams to Roman athletics, oratory, and toga processions, experiences like these bring learning to life and give students the chance to explore their passions far beyond the classroom. We’re so proud of our for the way they competed, collaborated, and excelled throughout the weekend. Grātiās and congratulations to all involved! 💚💛

It’s been quite a 🌸 spring for our teams, and many of our varsities are all in 'Spring State Survival Mode’ - headed all over the state to play for our wonderful Overlake community on their high school sports biggest stages.

We’ve already seen our Boys Lacrosse 🥍 team win their last 9 games to reach the State Semifinals this Saturday in Anacortes. Our Baseball ⚾ team won a ‘walk-off’ game last weekend to return to Bellingham this Saturday, putting them in position to earn a trip to State with one more victory. Our Boys' and Girls' Tennis 🎾 players crushed their District Tournaments - including one Owls singles player winning 36 straight games - to move on to State in Yakima. And Boys and Girls Golf ⛳ qualified a record number of athletes for State next week in Spokane!

What a great time to gather together, hear from our athletes, and cheer them on as they go! GO OWLS! 🦉

Our 5th and 6th graders have been diving down rabbit holes, sipping tea with the Mad Hatter, and painting roses red – all to put on a show that promises to delight!

Let’s make some magical memories together!

Ever seen a play where two languages are spoken on stage? 🎭 This week, The Seattle Shakespeare Company brought a fresh twist to "Romeo and Juliet" for 7th and 8th graders, blending English with Spanish. It's like seeing an old classic through a vibrant new lens!

🌟 Stay tuned for the next "Stories from the Nest" to discover what students learned from their chat with the actors after the show.

Service Day in action! 🌟

Our Upper School students took on Service Day and it was a success! From sprucing up playgrounds, to tidying up horse trails, and even getting their hands dirty with bike repairs, they did it all. 🚲🐎

Thankfully the rain held off for our Middle Schoolers as they headed out into the community for Middle School Service Day. 🌥️

Our students helped with trail maintenance, seed planting, food sorting, and much more for area farms and organizations. 🌿

Service Day is an opportunity to give back and do hands-on work that makes a real difference for organizations outside Overlake. 👐
