This is such a Powerful Book! Every word, every sentence is very empowering.
The quote that stuck with us:
‘I am Me because you are You’

I would say a must have for every house!

As mentioned at the end of the book : Alphabet Rockers get young people to talk about self-love and justice. They empower youth to embody change, advocate for others and imagine a world they can be seen in and thrive in !
And this is exactly what the book represents.

Hundreds chart puzzle !

This is tricky and fun puzzle !

We used a hundreds chart, pasted on a cereal box. Colored different Tetris shapes and cut !

Lots of ways to learn!
You can use a reference 100 chart sheet and ask the lil to complete the puzzle … or for older kids lots of talk around numbers here !

Using on cereal box gives a puzzle on the other side as well (last pic) !

Using the dominoes we sorted by color and placed on the Venn diagram! Picture shows only for red and yellow ..
Then we counted and wrote the value for each find!
Later I made a graph sheet and showed her how we can graph it to see all data at a glance and compare ! She did get a good understanding of it ! Swipe ➡️ to see the next image !

Lots of math learning here !
While counting we talked about how we can make group of numbers to quickly get the total !

Learning place values !

Using our magnetic tiles to build blocks of ten and ten build the number !

It was a great way to understand the relation between the numbers ! We made till 100 !

Later I build some numbers and asked the lil one to tell me the number of blocks without literally counting them !
