That’s a really fancy way of saying more is not always better.
How exercises are structured and sequenced together matters. The resistance you work against matters. Your alignment and breath within each exercise matters.
Yes, moving your body in general is always a good thing. Motion is lotion. But if you really want to experience long-lasting progress in your Pilates practice then simply going to a reformer class and going through the motions may not be right for you.
At SSP, we focus on individualized training in the Pilates method so that your practice grows with you and evolves with you as you go through life ~ pregnancy, injuries (unfortunately inevitable), emotional stressors, job changes, kids, family, etc. Our goal is to help you feel your best so you can keep doing the things you love.
Trends are fun and moving your body in any way is a good idea but if long-lasting results are your goal, trend chasing won’t get you there.

Swans around the studio 🦢
When you practice Pilates as a system, utilizing the various pieces of equipment in the studio, you build connections block by block. Then, just like a sturdy house, your body, your structure is prepared to take on more load or more advanced work because the foundation is solid.
Working through the system helps you work smarter not harder.
