Ever since I was about five years old and learned her songs, Dolly Parton has been one of my very favorite people to look up to. As I got older, I realized it wasn’t just her music that inspired me, it was her heart.

She’s also been a huge inspiration on my own entrepreneurial journey. As someone building Sprout & Blossom, I’ve always admired how Dolly has never been afraid to dream big, explore new ideas, and use her success to make a positive difference. Whether it’s music, books, businesses, philanthropy, or creating places where families can make memories, she reminds me that you don’t have to stay in just one lane, you can follow your passions and use them to serve others.

At Sprout & Blossom, literacy is at the heart of what we do. We believe books spark curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning, so it’s impossible not to admire someone like Dolly, whose Imagination Library has put millions of books into the hands of children around the world.

I also love that so much of Dolly’s story is rooted in nature. Growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains shaped her appreciation for the outdoors, simple living, and the beauty all around us…things that inspire so much of what we share with our own little explorers.

Today may not be a national holiday (though I think it should be!), but I couldn’t let Dolly Parton Day pass without saying something about someone who has inspired generations through music, kindness, generosity, entrepreneurship, and a genuine love for children, books, and the natural world.
