Saha'tapa Loop Trail OPENS Nov. 5
Thank you to everyone for helping Redlands Conservancy respect the mountain lion visit to Live Oak Canyon. By staying off the Saha'tapa Loop Trail for a couple of weeks, we have given the cat time to finish its kill and move on to check out other parts of its territory. During the past two weeks, our Gateway Ranch caretaker Mike Franklin hiked the area and discovered several piles of animal bones, the size of a goat or sheep. Because our trail users mostly stayed off the trail during the closure, the mountain lion was not hurt nor did it hurt anyone or anyone's dog. Saha'tapa Loop Trail and Gateway Ranch Staging Area will be open by 8am on Saturday, November 5.
