"Carol Appleton: Extraordinary Light of the Every Day" is now open in the University Art Gallery and runs through October 29.

This exhibition of paintings and works on paper "represents a retrospective review of Appleton's art from the 1950s until she passed away earlier this year."

Carol Appleton is the late wife of James R. Appleton, the 8th president of the University of Redlands. Jim and Carol served the University together from 1987-2012 and remained active in the life of the University after their retirement. During her time as First Lady of the University, Carol forged a close relationship with our art department and was instrumental in helping Ann Peppers Hall come to fruition.

A selection of art works can be viewed on the University of Redlands Art Gallery webpage: www.redlands.edu/gallery/carolappleton
