Last week, we welcomed for a behind-the-scenes look at RUSD during their Education session!

Participants toured our Child Nutrition Services facility, learned about our middle school single-point entry system and the district’s focus on safety, visited a Garner Holt lab, and heard directly from students, administrators, and district staff, including Superintendent Juan J. Cabral.

They walked away with a deeper understanding of the people, priorities, and leadership behind RUSD and how we continue to put students first.

At last week's District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting, RUSD families, staff, and school leaders came together to share perspectives, learn from one another, and strengthen the partnership that supports multilingual learners across the district.

DELAC gives families of English learners an important voice in district programs, services, and decisions. By listening, collaborating, addressing issues, and building trust, we strengthen our schools and create more opportunities for every student to thrive.

Last night's RUSD College Fest was all about empowering students to explore what's possible after high school.

Students from across the district had the opportunity to chat face to face with over 50 representatives from colleges, universities, trade and technical schools, and the military with options ranging from our local community colleges to international institutions.

This opportunity gave students the chance to ask questions, hear about programs and experiences, learn about financial aid options, and discover possibilities they may not have even considered before!

Last week, ASB leaders from all four RUSD high schools attended their first Redlands Rotary Club meeting of the year, representing their schools while building connections with local leaders. These students help keep the community informed about what’s happening across RUSD.

The experience gives students a chance to strengthen their voices, practice leadership in real-world settings, and serve as ambassadors for their school communities.

Kimberly Elementary School marked Patriot Day with a special assembly centered on the theme of heroes and service.

Students met members of the Redlands Police Department, Redlands Fire Department, and local ER nurses as the school community recognized and thanked first responders for the important roles they play in keeping our community safe and cared for.

At our recent Board of Education meeting, we were proud to shine the Student Spotlight on Citrus Valley High School’s CLASSy Flower Shop & Coffee Co. and the incredible students bringing this hands-on learning experience to life!

Led by Principal McCue, Ms. Dillow and Mr. Arbeiter shared how the class goes beyond the traditional classroom by giving students opportunities to learn through real-world experiences. From preparing and serving coffee to creating floral arrangements, students are strengthening skills in communication, teamwork, customer service, responsibility, problem-solving and workplace readiness.

More importantly, every order, arrangement and interaction gives students another opportunity to practice independence, build confidence and discover what they are capable of accomplishing.

This is what learning looks like when students can connect classroom instruction with meaningful, real-world experiences — developing skills they can carry with them into their future.

We are proud of our Citrus Valley students and staff for creating opportunities where students can learn, grow and thrive!
