Street Smart Self Defense

We are on summer break starting this week. We will resume training on. September 18th, 2026. I will update all of you on our GroupMe chat. If you have not signed on, let me know and I can send you instructions on how to download the app and how to be added. Today is a proud day for the Street Smart family.

Congratulations to Michael Sprenkle on earning the rank of First-Degree Black Belt. Since joining the program in 2016, Michael has dedicated the last 10 years to training, learning, and pushing himself to become the martial artist and young man he is today. This achievement is well deserved and reflects the commitment, perseverance, and character he has demonstrated throughout his journey.

Congratulations as well to Instructor Joshua Cretu (Josh) on his promotion to Third-Degree Black Belt. Josh has devoted countless hours to teaching, mentoring, and encouraging our students over the years. His dedication to the Street Smart program has helped shape the next generation of martial artists, and I am incredibly grateful for everything he has given to our program.

I couldn’t be more proud of these two young warriors. Their accomplishments represent years of hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment.

In the end, it’s never been about the belt. It’s about the journey, the lessons learned, and the person you become along the way. The belt is simply a symbol of the character you’ve earned.

Congratulations to you both. You’ve made the entire Street Smart family proud.

Greetings Team, We are canceling Street Smart classes on June 19th and July 3rd. Our final class before the summer break is scheduled for July 31st, which will include a black belt test and a special presentation.

I am very happy to announce that our very own instructor, Josh will be testing for his purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu under the umbrella of the Roy Dean Academy. I am looking forward to his test and I am 100% sure he’s going to make us all very proud.
