A roll of 1, 2, or 3 wins 1, 2, or 3 bonus stars to keep or award to improving teammates*. Courtesy of your Dear Coach! Onward! Whose Players will be thrilled??!!

*On a roll of 4 or 5, Players chant, ‘We’ve got Grit! We don’t Quit!’ 6 is a re-roll (with the Cosmic Power Up).

Two minute, cartoon video with gestures and Wonder Words prompts. Going around the room so every player has a chance, one point for every new question asked. 1. Project the slide and demo Wonder Words questions and answers.

2. Set a countdown timer for two minutes.

3. Going around the room, each Player asks (1 point), or answers (1 point), or asks and answers (2 points) a Wonder Words question before time ends.

4. If Players draw a blank or repeat a response, they call “Help me!” Teammates offer suggestions

Welcome: Wonder Words Adventure Card 4

Model asking and answering Wonder Words questions that begin with one of the eight words below. Put kids in a circle. Set an electronic countdown timer for two minutes. Until time’s up, players take turns going around the circle asking a Wonder Words question (1 point), answering a Wonder Words question (1 point) or asking and answering a Wonder Words question (2 points). If a Player is stuck, or repeats a response, they call out “Help me!” and teammates offer suggestions. Record high scores on the board. When players beat their score three times, they win a new Adventure Card (I’ve got lots!). Wonder Words Adventure Cards develop critical thinking skills, narrative talents, teamwork and powerfully induce participation from kids ordinarily less engaged. A card will be posted every few days until April.
