A room of martial arts school owners… a massive dojang… and some martial arts legends.
That was our past weekend in Denver.
Tempest leaders had the honor of traveling to Denver to train and celebrate the 37th Anniversary of . Huge thank you to Grandmaster Seo, Master O’Hollaron, and his incredible team for their generosity in hosting us and for the time Grandmaster Seo spent sharing his invaluable knowledge and experience. We felt pretty spoiled.
And this dojang was SUPER AWESOME. The size, the energy, the community built there over 37 years — it’s something every school owner dreams of building. We were lucky enough to sit at the judge’s table with Grandmaster Seo at his belt testing, and WOW.
What made the weekend even more special was spending time with so many other martial arts leaders whose schools are also thriving, impressive, and built with the utmost dedication to students and community. Being around them reminds us what’s possible and what we continue to work toward at Tempest.
And just as important as the training was the time spent around the table sharing meals, ideas, stories, and friendship. What fun, and what a privilege to spend that time with legendary greats: our idol Grandmaster Seo, Olympic medalist Grandmaster Han Lee, and Black Belt Hall of Famer Grandmaster Julius Melegrito, among so many other accomplished masters.
Taekwondo is more than kicking and punching. Weekends like this remind us how special the Taekwondo community really is — a global one built on mentorship, respect, and lifelong friendships.
Feeling inspired, grateful, and excited to bring what we learned back home to our students.
Tempest Tkd did it, took the running club in the 2026 Run through Redlands. A challenging yet very enjoyable experience. We participated in both the 5k and 10k. We had the opportunity to connect with the Redlands community and share our Taekwondo.

Testing day isn’t about perfection—it’s about preparation. It’s about showing up, staying focused under pressure, and trusting the work done day after day. Our students earned their progress through discipline, effort, and mental toughness. Proud of the commitment shown on the mat and the growth that comes from putting in the work when it’s hard.
